Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has described Arsenal youngster Gabriel Martinelli as a “talent of the century”.

Martinelli netted a brace as the Gunners fell short against the Reds in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old who arrived from Brazilian side Ituano over the summer has quickly established himself as a big part of Unai Emery’s plans.

Martinelli has seven goals in just 405 minutes of action this season and Klopp was full of praise for his performance.

Klopp told Liverpool’s website: “Sepp van den Berg as well, he played an incredible game.

“That’s really difficult to deal with these guys. Martinelli’s pretty much the same age but he’s a talent of the century, he’s an incredible striker, so it’s really difficult.

“Then you have Mesut Ozil around and Joe Willock right, who scored, by the way, a really nice one, so a team like Arsenal in a counter-attacking mood – we keep them deep, play around them, we lose the ball and then it’s really difficult.

“Caoimhin [Kelleher] did incredibly. He conceded five and I don’t know, I think the second one maybe could’ve been different but all the others were really difficult to save. He’s an outstanding talent and it’s wonderful that we could give him the opportunity.”

However, the Portuguese does not want any of his players to be battle scarred, before tackling the big-scoring Germans at the Allianz Arena.

“7-2? I forbid any image about it. I watch it a couple of times with my staff and the analysts, try to go through every detail but not one single image for the boys not at all.

“We are going to focus on us, more than Bayern, to develop our model of play with different faces and diff bodies but there is a certain way we try to develop and we are totally focused on us and less on Bayern,” Mourinho told a press conference on Tuesday.

“We need to make a solid representation at Qatar 2022 and it starts with improving on your squad with quality players like Eze.

“Can you imagine a midfield with Ndidi, Aribo, Etebo and Eze? it is one that will improve our squad.
